The landmark round GasanMamo insurance building on the corner of Msida Road and Enrico Mizzi Street in Gżira is slated for redevelopment into a three-star hotel. The proposal, drawn up by architect Malcolm Xuereb, plans for 151 rooms across 10 floors, including a bar and pool at roof level, with a commitment to ECO certification to reduce environmental impact. This hotel replaces a previously approved seven-storey office block for the same site, which was greenlit by the Planning Authority in March 2023 but never built.
