A landmark strategic partnership between PETRONAS and Turkmenistan was signed on Thursday, deepening three decades of energy cooperation between the two nations. The agreement, witnessed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov during Anwar’s two-day official visit to Ashgabat, signals a new phase in bilateral economic relations. The Prime Minister’s Office stated that the partnership not only strengthens friendship but also contributes to economic growth, talent development, and knowledge and technology transfer. It opens avenues for more strategic involvement in developing future energy resources, particularly in Turkmenistan’s natural gas sector, which holds some of the world’s largest reserves.
