breaking newsMuda unveils 3 more candidates, including 53-year-old, for Johor polls 21.06.2026

Muda has unveiled three new candidates for the Johor election, including a 53-year-old, as it seeks to expand beyond its youth base. Premanand Maniam will contest Bukit Batu, while Amir Jack (30) and Ainie Haziqah Shafii (36) are running in Maharani and Simpang Jeram. All are first-time candidates active in community work. Earlier, Rashifa Aljuneid was named for Puteri Wangsa after party president Amira Aisya Abdul Aziz stepped aside, reportedly for a parliamentary bid. Amira defended the selection of Premanand, stating that age is irrelevant as long as candidates share Muda’s progressive values and commitment to championing youth voices. She cited his long service in Bukit Batu. Muda also launched its “Kontrak Muda Johor 2026” manifesto, addressing cost of living, state reforms, and climate change. Information chief Rasid Abu Bakar said the priorities came from voter engagement. Nomination is June 27, with early voting and polling on July 7.
