IMF approves $211 million climate resilience programme for Sierra Leone 21.06.2026

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) approved a $211.5 million Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF) for Sierra Leone on Thursday, aimed at enhancing the country’s resilience to climate-related shocks. The programme targets climate-sensitive public investment, financial stability, and improved fiscal planning. Concurrently, the IMF completed its third review of Sierra Leone’s Extended Credit Facility (ECF), allowing an immediate disbursement of about $31.7 million, bringing total ECF disbursements under the arrangement to approximately $158.6 million.
