BREAKING: ‘Irigwe Nation’ Holds Mass Burial For Nine Victims Of Southern Kaduna Massacre, Including Five Children 28.06.2026

On Saturday, the Irigwe Nation conducted a mass burial for nine residents of Angwan Magaji in Kamaru Ward, Kauru Local Government Area, who were killed in a June 16, 2026, attack by armed bandits. The victims included five children and one woman, while 11 others sustained injuries. Families, religious leaders, and sympathizers gathered to lay the victims to rest amid prayers, tears, and renewed calls for justice. Community leaders described the attack as part of a sustained campaign of violence that has plagued Southern Kaduna for over 20 years, alleging that perpetrators are rarely arrested or prosecuted. They expressed frustration over what they termed the Nigerian government’s failure to hold attackers accountable, arguing that impunity encourages further bloodshed.
