NDC appeals court ruling nullifying its registration, uploads Peter Obi’s name on INEC’s portal 30.06.2026

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) is fighting to retain its political party status after a Federal High Court in Lokoja, Kogi State, set aside its December 2025 judgement that had directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the NDC. The court’s reversal came following an application by the Peace Movement Party (PMP), which argued it was not joined in the original suit. Justice Isah Dashen upheld the PMP’s request, ruling that all relevant parties must be heard before any substantive decision, declaring the previous proceedings null and void and restoring the status quo pending a final determination.
