Pakistan's Ministry of Finance signed a memorandum of understanding with SC Financial Technologies, an affiliate of World Liberty Financial (WLF), in January to explore using the USD1 stablecoin for cross-border payments. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir attended the signing with WLF executives, including Trump adviser Steve Witkoff's son Zach. Nearly six months later, no pilot project, licenses, or transactions using USD1 have occurred, according to Pakistani officials.
