A Russian bomb strike on July 3 in the central Sumy region of Ukraine killed at least three people, including children, and injured others, according to regional governor Oleh Hryhorov. The attack also hit a high-rise apartment building, a shop, and a street. Across Sumy and southeastern Ukraine, a total of six people were killed by multiple Russian attacks, including glide bombs near Sumy city and over 50 strikes involving drones, artillery, and bombs in the Dnipropetrovsk region, which resulted in three fatalities, two of whom were near Nikopol. Additionally, strikes in the city of Zaporizhzhia killed two people and injured 21. These incidents occurred as Kyiv observed a day of mourning following a separate deadly missile and drone attack.
