Food takes center stage at open air guinguettes along the Loire River 03.07.2026

La Guinguette de Tours, established in 2005 and situated along the Loire River, has evolved beyond a mere waterfront party spot to become a culinary destination. This open-air establishment, featuring the restaurant La Petite Embarque with seating for approximately 100 diners, has elevated its food offerings under the direction of chef Pauline Carasco, who joined in 2023. Carasco, with her international training, crafts a surprising menu that moves beyond typical guinguette fare, incorporating bold flavors like Thai-style duck salad and buckwheat pancakes with moutabal. Despite the sophisticated approach, main courses and desserts are priced reasonably at €18, emphasizing fresh, local produce and house-made ingredients, such as tofu produced just 20 kilometers away.
