With the upcoming opening of the new Lok Ma Chau Spur Checkpoint, the Transport Department has announced the launch of four new franchised bus routes, with KMB, Citybus, and New Lantao Bus selected as operators. KMB will operate a route between Kwai Chui Estate and the new Lok Ma Chau Spur Checkpoint, with an estimated travel time of approximately 45 minutes via the Tai Lam Tunnel Interchange. Citybus will operate two routes, connecting Sieu Wan Road in Kai Tak to the new Lok Ma Chau Spur Checkpoint, and Tuen Mun Castle Peak Bay Bus Terminus to the new Lok Ma Chau Spur Checkpoint. New Lantao Bus will operate a route between the new Lok Ma Chau Spur Checkpoint and Wu Kai Sha Station Public Transport Interchange, marking the company's first service in New Territories East. The Transport Department stated that service proposals from various companies were carefully considered during the selection process, and they are currently coordinating operational details with the respective companies. Specific information regarding service commencement dates, operating hours, and frequencies is expected to be announced later.
