Fuel providers hopeful of more price reductions 06.07.2026

Major fuel providers Rubis and ATF Fuels have confirmed that falling wholesale costs are finally filtering through to petrol and diesel pump prices in Guernsey and Jersey. Following peak prices seen in May due to the Iran war, global oil prices have returned to levels not seen since before the conflict. While diesel experienced its fastest monthly price drop since 2000 in June, petrol prices have seen more modest decreases. The Jersey Consumer Council advised residents to shop around but warned that price reductions often occur more slowly than increases due to consumer behavior. Rubis noted that as they replace expensive existing stocks with cheaper new deliveries, further reductions are expected. Meanwhile, ATF Fuels highlighted that refined product costs have fallen slower than crude due to infrastructure damage and refining expenses, though they confirmed that recent price drops are already reaching consumers.
