Restoration of Phra Maha Phichai Ratcharot nearly 100% complete 07.07.2026

General Pana Klaewplodtook, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, inspected the restoration progress of royal chariots and palanquins at the Royal Chariot Hall within the Bangkok National Museum on Tuesday. Maj-General Phanu Panthong reported that the restoration of the Phra Maha Phichai Ratcharot is nearly 100% complete, alongside the Vejayanta Ratcharot, in preparation for the royal cremation ceremony of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. The Ordnance Department is maintaining five types of royal vehicles, including Naga-stair hoists and royal urn bases. To ensure structural integrity, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok and Suranaree University of Technology utilized Magnetic Yoke technology to inspect metal components. No defects were found during these specialized surveys. The restoration process is expected to conclude in October, followed by six readiness rehearsals scheduled for the end of the month.
