Super Typhoon Inday prompts Signal No. 1 over northeast Cagayan 07.07.2026

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has announced a significant increase in flight frequencies to Japan to accommodate the anticipated surge in holiday travel demand. Starting in late October 2026, the flag carrier will expand its services to Tokyo (Narita), Osaka (Kansai), and Sapporo (Chitose), bringing its total Japan operations to approximately 87 weekly flights. According to PAL President Richard Nuttall, these enhancements aim to provide greater flexibility for Filipinos visiting Japan during the winter season and Japanese travelers visiting the Philippines. Beyond Japan, PAL plans to bolster its presence in Australia by adding flights to Melbourne and Perth, while upgrading aircraft on select Sydney and Brisbane routes. These strategic moves are designed to support heightened seasonal demand, strengthen international tourism, and increase cargo capacity to facilitate growing trade between the Philippines and its key international partners.
