Tanzanian photographer Filbert Minja has achieved international acclaim by winning the David Wolf Kaye Future Potential Award – Photography at the Earth Photo 2026 competition, held at the Royal Geographical Society in London. His winning project, "Roots of Healing," is a photo documentary that explores the indigenous herbal medicine traditions practiced by communities in the Kilimanjaro and Arusha regions of Tanzania. The competition, established in 2018, is a leading global platform for photography and film focused on climate, environment, culture, and humanity. This year, it attracted over 1,400 entries from around the world, with only eight awards presented.
