The Federal Court in Putrajaya today upheld Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman's acquittal on charges of criminal breach of trust (CBT), dishonest misappropriation of property, and money laundering involving funds linked to Bersatu Youth. A three-member bench, chaired by Court of Appeal president Datuk Seri Abu Bakar Jais, dismissed the prosecution's final appeal, ruling it lacked merit. In a 2-1 majority decision, the court held that the prosecution had failed to establish that the Court of Appeal had made any appealable error when it overturned the High Court's conviction last year.
