Former Bangi MP Ong Kian Ming has predicted that Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin could lose his Pagoh parliamentary seat in the next general election, following the party's dismal performance in Saturday's Johor state election. Ong noted that Johor has long been considered Bersatu's stronghold, given Muhyiddin's extensive political career in the state, including serving as menteri besar from 1986 to 1995. Muhyiddin, a nine-term MP for Pagoh, won the seat with a 10,007-vote majority in the 2022 general election.
