Spending rise absorbs almost all €1.34bn revenue gain 14.07.2026

Luxembourg's central-government finances showed a near-balance in the first half of 2026, with revenue rising by €1.34bn to €16.18bn and expenditure increasing by €1.33bn to €16.28bn, leaving a €104m deficit. This deficit was €7m smaller than the same period in 2025. Finance Minister Gilles Roth presented the figures to parliament's finance and budget-execution committees on 13 July, stating, "Our public finances are solid," but added, "Despite this favourable situation, we must remain cautious and closely monitor global uncertainties."
