PFIPC: Gbaja slams N15bn defamation suit against Adeyemi 17.07.2026

Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President, has initiated a N15 billion defamation suit against Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi at the FCT High Court in Abuja. The lawsuit stems from Adeyemi's public allegations on June 25, 2026, that Gbajabiamila demanded a 48% kickback from a N27.3 billion take-off grant for the PFIPC, and received N400 million through a proxy. Gbajabiamila, through his legal team led by Kemi Pinheiro, SAN, categorically denies these claims, stating he has never met or communicated with Adeyemi, nor authorized anyone to act on his behalf. The suit seeks N10 billion in general damages, N5 billion in aggravated damages, N200 million in costs, and a court order for Adeyemi to publish a retraction and apology in five national newspapers and on social media for 30 days.
