Andrew and Tristan Tate remain in Miami jail as they fight UK extradition 20.07.2026

USA Today

Andrew and Tristan Tate, controversial influencers and former kickboxers, are being held in a Miami jail as they contest extradition to the United Kingdom to face charges of rape and human trafficking. The British extradition request, executed by U.S. Marshals on July 18, triggers a process that will ultimately be decided by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Defense attorney Joseph McBride argued outside the courthouse that an initial hearing on July 20 was a preliminary step, with a lawyers-only meeting expected soon to schedule written arguments. U.S. Magistrate Judge Lauren Louis has set another hearing for July 27. McBride is also fighting to end the brothers' solitary confinement, describing the 5-foot-by-12-foot cell as "torture." Because the case is an extradition, bail is not available.
