Opportunity 2.0 helping stimulate FDI 12h ago

“China Opportunity 2.0” is emerging as a key driver for attracting global investment, as foreign enterprises commit to China’s evolving market characterized by higher-standard opening-up, technological innovation, and high-quality growth. Business executives highlight opportunities in infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and advanced manufacturing. Chen Pu, chief Asia officer of Belgian chemical manufacturer Syensqo, noted that improvements in China’s industrial ecosystem—including stronger supply chains and enhanced manufacturing capabilities—are creating new business opportunities. Syensqo has expanded with five manufacturing sites and a major research center in Shanghai. Similarly, Stefan Floeck of ABB emphasized China’s central role in the company’s global motor business, citing industrial upgrading and green transition driving demand for energy-efficient equipment. ABB has invested over 150 million yuan ($22.12 million) to upgrade its Shanghai base.
