North Korean students resent piri in Kim Jong Un’s gift instruments 22.07.2026

A lower secondary school in Kim Hyongjik county, Ryanggang province, is preparing a large instrumental ensemble for next year’s Lunar New Year performance using musical instruments gifted by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un last year. The school received over 100 instruments, including accordions, guitars, violins, cellos, and piri. Students are required to practice for an hour daily, even during summer vacation, with the school stating they must "bring joy to the Marshal."
