Lava flows on 202nd straight day of effusive eruption at Mayon Volcano 26.07.2026

Mayon Volcano in Albay continued its effusive eruption on Sunday evening, marking the 202nd consecutive day of activity, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS). The agency reported observing Strombolian activity—intermittent, relatively mild volcanic explosions—at the restive peak, which generated incandescent lava flows and rockfalls. PHIVOLCS emphasized that Alert Level 3 remains in effect over Mayon, and entry into the 6-kilometer radius Permanent Danger Zone must be strictly prohibited.
