SpaceX launched its Starship rocket on flight 13 from South Texas on July 24, 2026, after two delays due to engine issues and Tropical Storm Bertha. The 407-foot-tall Version 3 rocket lifted off at 6:51 p.m. ET from SpaceX's Starbase facility. The Super Heavy booster, powered by 33 Raptor engines, separated successfully but made a hard splashdown in the Gulf of Mexico due to five engines failing to relight for a controlled landing.
