Buc-ee's, the popular Texas-based convenience store chain known for its beaver mascot, has sued Beaver's Mini Mart in Beavercreek, Ohio, alleging trademark infringement over the use of a cartoon beaver logo. The lawsuit, filed late last month, claims the mini-mart's smiling beaver logo and red coloring closely mimic Buc-ee's iconic branding, which has been used for over four decades and is protected by federal trademark registrations. Buc-ee's argues that the logo could create consumer confusion about whether the store is affiliated with the chain, which opened its first Ohio location near Dayton in April.
