Tuesday marks the one-year anniversary of the Ottawa Senators' deal with the National Capital Commission to buy 11 acres at LeBreton Flats for a new arena. Team president Cyril Leeder told Postmedia's Bruce Garrioch that while there is no firm timeline for breaking ground, significant work is underway. "We're making good progress," Leeder said, noting that meetings with stakeholders occur two to four times weekly. The Senators' vision includes a hotel, restaurants, and residential housing surrounding the arena, creating what Leeder calls "the next great gathering place."
