The financial health of Thailand's SMEs has deteriorated sharply, with non-performing loans (NPLs) reaching 10.92% of total credit in the National Credit Bureau (NCB) dataset, according to figures cited by Surapol. This ratio is 3.3% higher than a year earlier and exceeds the 9.5% reported by the Bank of Thailand, as the NCB's database includes lenders beyond commercial banks. Approximately 80,000 accounts are now classified as non-performing, underscoring the severity of the debt burden.
