Cooluli, a Brooklyn-based brand, is recalling about 250,000 minifridges after receiving 19 reports of the units overheating, melting, or catching fire. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall on August 13, citing that the minifridges' electrical switch can short circuit, posing fire and burn hazards. This malfunction has resulted in property damages exceeding $80,000 and one reported smoke inhalation injury.
