A devastating crash on the A66 in Teesside has claimed the lives of seven people, including two police officers. The collision occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning when a Volkswagen Passat, traveling the wrong way down the dual carriageway near Middlesbrough, collided with a marked armed response vehicle carrying Pc Matthew Blades, 37, and Pc Tom Clough, 38. The officers were pursuing the Volkswagen after it was marked as suspicious in South Bank, near Middlesbrough, before the crash at 3:39 a.m.
