Tim Curry, whose death was announced on Aug. 26, left an indelible mark on cinema through his 1975 role as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." In the cult classic, Curry portrayed a Frankenstein-esque mad scientist from another planet who creates a muscular hunk for his own pleasure, wreaking havoc on an unsuspecting couple, Brad and Janet, who stumble into his castle. Curry brought raw emotional depth to the intimidating, performative character, understanding this misunderstood creature from a different planet and setting the standard for every performer who followed in his fishnets and high heels.
