The campaign, co-founded by audiobook narrator Alice Sockett, highlights the rapid advancement of AI voice cloning technology, which can create quick voice clones from just a few seconds of audio, though high-quality replicas require hours of training. Sockett described the situation as "an existential threat to our entire industry," noting that her voice is "out there in the public domain but completely unprotected" and that "voice theft increase[s] every week."
