China's chemical engineering LLM upgraded with task execution 02.09.2026

The Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences released the ChemELLM 3.0 Pro on Monday, marking a major advancement in China's chemical industry AI. This latest version of the country's first large language model dedicated to chemical engineering evolves from a knowledge assistant into an intelligent engineering partner capable of collaborating on complex tasks. Developed jointly with iFlytek, Alibaba Cloud Computing, and other entities, the model aims to bridge laboratory research and industrial production, addressing the chemical industry's challenges of complex materials, diverse data types, and stringent engineering constraints.
