Karachi police arrested six workers of the Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) on Wednesday for allegedly setting two motorcycles and tyres on fire at Korangi Crossing to obstruct traffic. The arrests came during JI's nationwide strike against the petroleum levy, which the party insists was peaceful. Videos circulating on social media showed burned motorcycle remnants and tyres laid out in a row, though vehicles were seen driving around the obstruction.
