A 20-year-old Taiwanese university student, surnamed Tai, rear-ended 28-year-old policewoman Cheng Yung Hsin with her scooter on April 28 in Annan District, Tainan. The collision caused Cheng to fall and be run over by a tour bus, resulting in her death; she was preparing for her wedding at the time. Following the accident, the student faced public shaming after eyewitness footage showed her checking her bike. On the day of Cheng's funeral, the student, accompanied by her parents, visited the funeral hall. Initially blocked from entering, they were eventually allowed to offer incense, with the student kneeling and bowing before the coffin. However, the victim's family turned their backs on them, and the trio left after about 40 minutes.
