The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee (NWC) has waived the screening requirements for incumbent President Bola Tinubu for the upcoming 2027 presidential primary elections. The decision, made during the NWC's 188th meeting on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, deems President Tinubu as already sufficiently screened due to his current position and prior clearance for the 2022 primaries. APC spokesman Felix Morka stated that the NWC exercised its constitutional powers to grant this waiver, citing Tinubu's overwhelming endorsement from key party stakeholders, including the Progressive Governors Forum and National Assembly leadership, as justification for deeming further screening redundant. This move comes as James Faleke has already purchased Tinubu's nomination form for the 2027 race.
