Android adds new Gemini AI features, smarter search, and better scam protection 28.02.2026

Google is set to release significant Android upgrades on February 25, coinciding with Samsung Unpacked, introducing new AI-powered features to enhance user experience and safety. The core of these updates is Gemini, Google's AI assistant, which will now perform complex, multi-step tasks in the background, such as ordering rides or building grocery carts, with a single request, initially available in beta for select U.S. and Korean devices. Circle to Search is also being enhanced to identify entire outfits and looks with a single gesture, streamlining visual discovery and shopping, with this feature rolling out this week to Galaxy S26 and Pixel 10 devices. Furthermore, scam protection is being bolstered with an on-device Gemini model powering Scam Detection in the Samsung Phone app for English-speaking U.S. users on Galaxy S26 devices, and improved scam detection for text messages in Google Messages, aiming for real-time, cloud-independent threat identification.
