The roguelite kingdom builder "The King is Watching," developed by Hypnohead and published by tinyBuild, is set to release its first paid DLC, "Crowns of History," on March 16 for PC via Steam, priced at $4.99. This expansion introduces three new historical rulers: Cleopatra, Empress of Death, a necromancer who utilizes a new resource called Canopy; Taizong of Tang, Master of Offensive Structures, who enhances defensive buildings; and Xerxes, The Glass Cannon King, a high-risk, high-reward ruler with amplified damage output. Concurrently, all players will receive a free "Dark Realm" update featuring a Lovecraft-inspired map with a unique Kraken boss encounter, maintaining Hypnohead's commitment to free content updates alongside paid expansions. A second DLC, "Crowns of Fiction," is slated for release later in 2026.
