3 firms linked to 400 unpaid migrant workers share same director, a S'pore PR who has left country 25.06.2026

Migrant workers from a third firm, VVR Plant Engineering, have joined those from SK Industries and KPA Engineering in seeking help over unpaid wages. All three companies share the same director, Ramu Palani Velu, a Singapore permanent resident who has reportedly left Singapore. Velu is a director of seven local firms and remains uncontactable, with his registered addresses showing signs of creditor claims and legal notices. The previous owners of VVR Plant Engineering stated they sold the company to Velu in 2025 for a minimal sum after a family crisis, unaware of his identity. Velu reportedly started KPA Engineering in 2014, which last recorded S$1 million in capital.
