3 S'pore driving schools suspended 13,400 suspected booking bot accounts in 2025: Shanmugam 07.05.2026

In 2025, three major driving schools in Singapore—Singapore Safety Driving Centre, ComfortDelGro Driving Centre, and Bukit Batok Driving Centre—collectively suspended approximately 13,400 accounts suspected of utilizing booking bots. Home Affairs Minister K. Shanmugam revealed this information on May 6 in response to a parliamentary query about the fairness of learner access to driving lesson slots. The use of booking bots, often available as paid services on platforms like Telegram and Carousell, is reportedly a workaround for learners facing long wait times for Class 3 lessons, a situation attributed to a supply-demand mismatch. While there are no legal penalties for bot users, the traffic police have mandated anti-bot measures, such as Captcha, for the schools. A centralized booking system is not being considered, with the schools expected to manage their own systems.
