3,000 smokers seek help to quit as UAE expands specialised clinics 01.06.2026

Emirates Health Services (EHS) in the UAE has expanded its smoking cessation program, now operating 18 specialized clinics across primary healthcare centers and benefiting over 3,000 individuals. This initiative, a key component of preventive healthcare, utilizes medical treatment, counseling, and follow-up care to help smokers quit and reduce smoking-related diseases. Patients aged 16 and above can register via the EHS smart app or in person. The comprehensive approach includes behavioral therapy, medication, virtual consultations, and biometric monitoring. EHS plans further expansion with digital solutions, a dedicated smart app, a support hotline, group therapy, and awareness campaigns, aiming to increase participation by 20% in 2025 and provide recognition for successful quitters.
