Ranis Healthcare, a care company with Conservative councillor Leedo George as a director, has been upgraded from an "inadequate" rating to "requires improvement" by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The company, which provides care for individuals with dementia and disabilities, was previously placed in special measures in the summer. While the CQC noted improvements in areas such as person-centred care, risk management, safeguarding, staffing, and safe recruitment, the service still breaches governance regulations. A new management team is in place, and a review of systems and processes has been conducted, with some service users reporting positive changes in care quality. George acknowledged the progress but stated it is not the final goal, aiming to leverage his experience to advocate for better social care services.
