World launches tool to verify humans behind AI shopping agents 17.03.2026

Tools for Humanity (TFH), the startup behind World, has launched AgentKit, a beta software development tool designed to verify human users behind AI shopping agents. This new system aims to combat potential fraud and abuse in the rapidly growing field of agentic commerce, where AI programs browse and make purchases on behalf of consumers. AgentKit integrates with World ID, a verification system that uses iris scans from World's Orb device to create a unique digital code. This World ID can then be linked to the x402 protocol, a blockchain-based standard developed by Coinbase and Cloudflare, allowing websites to confirm that a distinct, verified human is authorizing an AI agent's transactions. The tool is being offered to developers to gather feedback and refine the system, with the goal of establishing World as a key provider of trust and security in automated online commerce.
