Former Conservative MP Crispin Blunt, 65, has been charged with four drug offences, including one count of possessing a Class A drug (methamphetamine) and three counts of possessing Class B drugs (GBL, cannabis, and amphetamine). These charges stem from police searches conducted at his Horley home on October 25, 2023, during a separate investigation. Blunt, who represented Reigate for over 25 years and previously served as parliamentary under-secretary in the Ministry of Justice, is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on March 25. The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed sufficient evidence exists to proceed with criminal proceedings, emphasizing the importance of a fair trial and urging against prejudicial reporting.
