Best horse in the world Calandagan gets green light to travel to Dubai World Cup 22.03.2026

Calandagan, officially recognized as the world's best horse after victories in the Japan Cup and European races, has received approval from his owners, the Aga Khan Studs, to compete in the Dubai Sheema Classic on Dubai World Cup night at Meydan next week. Despite initial concerns regarding the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the owners deem the situation safe for travel. Calandagan will join his stablemate Rayevka, who is already in Dubai for the Al Quoz Sprint. This race was a preferred target over a Hong Kong entry, and Calandagan is reported to be in excellent form. Organizers have confirmed the Dubai World Cup will proceed as scheduled on Saturday, March 28, 2026, though fewer American and Japanese runners are expected due to disruptions.
