Ein neues Hundebein aus dem 3D-Drucker: Junge Ingenieure machen es möglich 21.02.2026

Two young entrepreneurs, Simon Schuß and Dominik Hogen, both 27, have founded Pawsthesis in Friedberg, Germany, to provide 3D-printed prosthetics and orthotics for animals. Their venture began as a university project and has since grown into a full-time business, driven by a desire to create meaningful products. They have equipped approximately 780 dogs with custom-made plastic prostheses, orthoses, and front-wheel carts, with all components except screws and textiles being 3D-printed. Their first client, Gulliver, a Podenco mix who lost his right front leg and shoulder joint after an injury in Spain, has been instrumental in testing and refining their designs. Pawsthesis also serves other animals, including a cow, horse, alpacas, sheep, goats, and even a turkey, with full prostheses starting at €1600 and orthoses at €700, shipped worldwide.
