The folk ensemble “Lazarica” from Kruševac has achieved significant international success by winning first place at the prestigious “Sarimsakli Trophy 2026” folklore festival in Sarimsakli, Turkey. Amidst very strong competition, featuring approximately 900 dancers from twenty different ensembles from Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Poland, and Turkey, the Kruševac group received the highest recognition from the professional jury. This trophy represents the ensemble's second major success at this festival, following their previous trophy win in 2023. Ensemble members emphasized that the award is a recognition of their dedication to preserving Serbian cultural heritage and folk dances. This success is the result of the hard work of all members, who presented their country's tradition in a dignified manner, alongside the exceptionally warm welcome and hospitality provided by the festival hosts.
