Trump's signature on $100 bill to put him in small circle of sitting presidents 28.03.2026

In June, U.S. President Donald Trump's signature will appear on $100 bills, marking a significant shift after 165 years of the U.S. Treasurer signing currency and placing Trump in a select group of sitting global leaders whose likenesses or signatures grace their nations' money. This change, announced by the Treasury Department on Thursday as part of the 250th U.S. anniversary celebration, will see Trump's signature accompany that of the Treasury Secretary, a practice established about a century ago. Historically, U.S. currency has featured the Treasurer's signature since 1861. Trump's inclusion on banknotes follows a previous plan for a commemorative coin, though an 1866 law prohibits living presidents' images on paper currency.
