Pashinyan says majority will back peace agenda in upcoming elections 8h ago

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed confidence that a majority of voters will support his government's peace agenda in the upcoming elections, scheduled for June 7. Speaking in Yerevan's Malatya-Sebastia administrative district on March 28, 2026, Pashinyan addressed public concerns about the peace process with Azerbaijan and the potential for renewed conflict. He emphasized the importance of public support to uphold the established peace and countered claims that he had previously warned of war if he were not re-elected, stating that the issue is about a political course rather than an individual. Pashinyan highlighted the danger posed by political forces advocating for a review of the peace process and called on the public to stand for peace, referencing agreements signed in Washington on August 8, 2025, and his subsequent public address on August 18, 2025, announcing the establishment of peace.
