Obi tambuwal amaechi others in kano as kwankwaso officially joins adc 30.03.2026

Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, a former presidential candidate for the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kano. He registered at Gidan Kwankwasiyya, Miller Road, Bompai, receiving his membership card in the presence of ADC chieftains and supporters from his Kwankwasiyya Movement. This move follows his resignation from the NNPP, citing the need for "strategic realignment" due to the nation's political landscape. Prominent figures like David Mark, Rauf Aregbesola, Peter Obi, Aminu Tambuwal, and Rotimi Amaechi were present. Kwankwaso's defection makes him the latest major 2023 presidential challenger, including Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, to join the ADC, which is being positioned as an opposition platform for the 2027 elections.
