Govt maintains increased RM300 diesel subsidy for April 31.03.2026

The Malaysian government will continue to provide an increased diesel subsidy of RM300 per month for April, maintaining the RM100 increment from the previous RM200. This enhanced subsidy, distributed under the BUDI Individu and BUDI Agri-Komoditi schemes, is an interim measure designed to shield 340,000 recipients, particularly individuals and those in the agri-commodity sector, from the impact of the diesel price hike to RM5.52 per litre in West Malaysia, which began on March 12 due to rising global crude oil prices. The additional aid is expected to cost the government approximately RM102 million, with deposits scheduled for April 8. The Finance Ministry is also exploring sustainable, long-term subsidy solutions.
