'False, fabricated': Rijiju slams oppn over claims on FCRA amendment Bill 31.03.2026

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has vehemently refuted claims by opposition parties, specifically the Congress and Left, that the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, targets religious organizations. Speaking at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi on Tuesday, Rijiju clarified that the bill's sole purpose is to prevent the misuse of foreign funding for activities detrimental to national security and interests. He characterized the opposition's assertions as "completely false, fabricated, and misleading," suggesting their motivation stems from a fear of the BJP's growing support in Kerala ahead of state assembly polls. The bill, introduced in the Lok Sabha on March 25, aims to enhance transparency and ensure proper utilization of foreign funds, with a specific clause addressing individuals engaging in forced religious conversion through such funding.
